Summary
Experiments in animals concerning the influence of oestrogens on the metabolism of the mesenchym have shown the stimulating effect of 17β-oestradiol whereas the effect of conjugated oestrogens may result in an inhibition as well as an increase of the metabolic rate of the mesenchym, depending on the different conditions of the performed experiments.
The behaviour of the level of serum-corticoids was contrary to the disturbed metabolism of the mesenchym. It seems to be possible, that conjugated oestrogens are effecting on the metabolism of the mesenchym directly and at the same time indirectly by changing the level of serum-corticoids.
