Zusammenfassung

Die Aufklärung der Bildung von natürlich vorkommenden Hydrochinon- und p-Chinonderivaten hat in der jüngsten Zeit schnelle Fortschritte gemacht. Die Verknüpfung der Biosynthesewege, die zu den einzelnen Gruppen dieser Substanzen führen, mit dem Grundstoffwechsel und zumindest die groben Umrisse der Bildungswege sind heute bekannt. Eine zusammenfassende Darstellung dieses Gebietes erscheint somit nützlich und gerechtfertigt.
