Zusammenfassung

Wachstum. Auf die einzelnen Wachstumsprozesse (Zellteilung, Zellvergrößerung) in Gewebekulturen (Neumann U. Steward; Steward et al.) und die Wurzelausbildung (Hauptachse, Seitenwurzelzahl und -länge) bei Tomate (Abbott) und Gerste (Hackett) haben die einzelnen Mineralstoffe unterschiedlichen Einfluß. Da z. B. die Seitenwurzelausbildung von Gerste bei P-Mangel kaum, bei K-Mangel aber stark gehemmt ist, haben K-Mangelwurzeln einen wesentlich größeren mittleren Durchmesser als P-Mangelwurzeln; da außerdem mit abnehmendem Nitratangebot die Wurzelhaarbildung stark zunimmt (Munns), reicht das Wurzelgewicht allein z. B. nicht zur Beurteilung der Mineralstoffaufnähme aus dem Boden aus.
