Zusammenfassung

Das Duodenum nimmt innerhalb des Magen-Darmkanals eine ungewöhnliche Position ein: Zwischenglied zwischen Magen und Jejunum, spiegelt es im Bulbus Motorik und Krankheitsspektrum des Magens, im übrigen Duodenum das des Dünndarms wieder. Leber und Pankreas mischen hier ihre Sekrete den Speisen bei, gesichert durch komplizierte Sphinktermechanismen am Ende der variablen Gangsysteme und in der Duodenalwand. Die Produktionsorgane Pankreas und Leber (mit dem Sekretspeicher Gallenblase) haben überdies engsten räumlichen Kontakt mit dem Duodenum. Dies alles und die räumliche Nähe weiterer Organe wie Colon, Niere, Nebenniere und Mesenterialwurzel machen das Duodenum in der Tat zu einem Spiegel, dessen Facetten die vielfältigsten Störungen wiedergeben können. Wer sich dieses Spiegels zu bedienen weiß, erhält einen tiefen Einblick in die Pathologie der Oberbaucherkrankungen.
