Zusammenfassung
Am 28. Dezember 1895 überreichte Röntgen dem Vorsitzenden der Physikalisch-Medizinischen Gesellschaft von Würzburg seine erste Mitteilung über eine neue Art von Strahlen, die er als X-Strahlen bezeichnete. Nur vier Monate nach der ersten Mitteilung Röntgens teilte Professor Daniel von der Vanderbilt-Universität mit, daß 21 Tage nach einer Schädelaufnahme mit Röntgenstrahlen Epilation aufgetreten war. Die Belichtungszeit betrug 1 Std. Wenig später folgen Berichte über eine größere Anzahl von Verbrennungen, die teilweise eine Folge von Demonstrationen waren.
