Zusammenfassung

Die Bildung der roten und weißen Blutkörperchen (außer Lympho- und Mono-cyten) sowie der Blutplättchen findet beim Erwachsenen normalerweise im roten Knochenmark statt. Hämatologische Krankheiten, die auf einer abnormalen Zellproduktion im Knochenmark beruhen, lassen sich zumeist durch eine Untersuchung der Knochenmarkzellen aufklären oder näher analysieren, so daß die Gewinnung von Markzellen ein häufig benutztes Hilfsmittel bei der Diagnose von Blutkrankheiten darstellt.
