Zusammenfassung

Die Einführung von Röntgenreihenuntersuchungen Ende der dreißiger Jahre diente in erster Linie den Lungenfachärzten im Kampf gegen die Lungentuberkulose. Dieser Kampf wurde technisch ermöglicht durch Anwendung des Schirmbildverfahrens, das vorher wohl bekannt gewesen, aber bis dahin noch nicht in größerem Umfang angewandt worden war. Während der verhältnismäßig kurzen Periode von etwa 2 Jahrzehnten hat dieses Verfahren eine rasch fortschreitende Entwicklung, sowohl hinsichtlich seiner qualitativen Ausbeute, als auch der Verwendungsmöglichkeiten durchgemacht. Seine Möglichkeiten erstrecken sich nun außer auf Reihenuntersuchungen auch auf weite Gebiete der klinischen Röntgendiagnostik.
