Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat die chirurgische Indikation auf manchen Gebieten einen Richtungswandel erfahren. Krankheiten mit unklarer Genese und Prognose waren bei dieser Entwicklung wesentlich beteiligt. Zunehmende Erfahrungen, bessere nosologische Kenntnisse und Fortschritte der operativen Technik veranlassen von Zeit zu Zeit die Überprüfung unserer Arbeitsvorstellungen. Die Polypen des Dickdarms stellen ein typisches Beispiel dar.
