Zusammenfassung

Die Krankheit, die zuerst von MacLeod als „serpiginous ulceration of the genitals“ beschrieben worden ist, hat eine Anzahl Synonyme, wie ulcerating granuloma of the pudenda, granuloma venereum, granuloma inguinale, Donovanosis. In der Literatur kommt wiederholt Verwechslung vor mit dem Lymphogranuloma inguinale oder der Krankheit von Nicolas Favre Durand. Das venerische Granulom ist ein stark granulierender (vegetativer) Prozeß, der durch von einer Kapsel umgebene Kokken oder Bacillen erregt wird, welche zu den Klebsiella aus der Friedländer Gruppe oder Donovania gerechnet werden. (Das Lymphogranuloma inguinale von Nicolas Favre Durand kennzeichnet sich wenig oder nicht durch Granulation oder Vegetationen, doch ist primär eine Krankheit der Lymphdrüsen, die durch Pararickettsiae verursacht wird.) Es ist ziemlich sicher, daß zwischen dem Erreger der Donovanosis und dem Bacillus rhinoscleromatis eine enge Verwandtschaft besteht.
