Zusammenfassung

Hier sei zuerst ein sehr bemerkenswerter neuer Versuch genannt, Arealgrenzen mit kartographisch darstellbaren Ausdrücken für das Großklima zu vergleichen: Der Finne V. Hintikka konstruiert 2–3-dimensionale Koordinatensysteme aus den Mitteltemperaturen des wärmsten und kältesten Monats und der Jahressumme des Niederschlags von nicht weniger als 136 finnischen, 151 schwedischen, 320 norwegischen, 25 dänischen und 660 sonstigen europäischen und auch nordamerikanischen Stationen und vergleicht hieraus konstruierte Karten mit großenteils neuen oder verbesserten Karten von über 100 europäischen Gefäßpflanzen, die er in eine subozeanische, mitteleuropäische und kontinentale Gruppe gliedert, sowie von einigen nordamerikanischen Holzpflanzen. Auf Grund der gefundenen Übereinstimmungen sucht er auch durch Klimaänderungen verursachte Grenzverschiebungen, wie das Zurückweichen der Nordgrenze von Carex pseudocyperus und Trapa natans seit der postglazialen Wärmezeit, großklimatisch genauer zu erklären als nach den bisherigen Verfahren, wie dem nur thermischen Enqvists.
