Zusammenfassung

1930, bei Herausgabe dieses Handbuches, benötigte A. Perutz kaum zwei Seiten zur Abhandlung des Themas Vitamine im Kapitel „Die Pharmakologie der Haut“ und R. Winternitz zum selben Thema etwa den gleichen Raum im Kapitel „Die allgemeine Therapie der Haut“. — Diese Tatsache kennzeichnet den Stand des Wissens um die Vitamine zu jener Zeit und deren damalige Wertschätzung in der Dermatologie. Seitdem hat die Vitaminforschung in den letzten Jahrzehnten grundlegende Fortschritte erzielt, deren Auswirkungen mannigfacher Art — einschließlich der Irrwege — auch in der Dermatologie nicht ausblieben. Eine systematische Besprechung der Vitamine aus dermatologischer Sicht erscheint deshalb berechtigt und nötig.
