Zusammenfassung
Für das Verständnis der Wirkungsweise der Antihistaminica ist die Kenntnis der Physiologie und Pharmakologie des Histamins wesentlich. Es erscheint daher angebracht, zunächst auf Ursprung, Verteilung, Wirkung und pathologisch-funktionelle Bedeutung des Histamins in kurzen Zügen einzugehen. Schon aus räumlichen Gründen kann diese Darstellung bei weitem nicht alle Ergebnisse der seit 1910 besonders intensiv betriebenen Histaminforschung berücksichtigen. Auf die ausführlichen monographischen Darstellungen von Feldberg und Schilf (1930), Gaddum (1936), Guggenheim (1951), Haas (1951,1952), Rocha e Silva (1955) u. a. sei daher ausdrücklich verwiesen.
