Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren ist eine stattliche Reihe zusammenfassender Werke erschienen, die alle wesentliche anatomische oder morphologische Erkenntnisse zur Darstellung bringen oder sich darauf beziehen. Wenn es im Rahmen dieses Berichtes auch nicht möglich ist, diese Bücher im einzelnen zu besprechen, so seien sie doch hier genannt. So hat K. ESAU ihrer 1953 veröffentlichten “Plant Anatomy” jetzt eine weniger umfangreiche, als Lehrbuch gedachte “Anatomy of seed plants” folgen lassen. Die weithin bekannte kleine „Anatomie der Pflanze“ von Molisch konnte inzwischen in der 7. Auflage erscheinen. Sie wurde wieder, ebenso wie die beiden vorausgegangenen Auflagen, von K. Höfler bearbeitet. Als „Versuch einer zeitgemäßen Neudarstellung„ hat B. Huber seine „Grundzüge der Pflanzenanatomie“ herausgebracht. Die „Grundzüge der Histogenese der höheren Pflanzen“, die von Guttenberg für das „Handbuch der Pflanzenanatomie“ bearbeitet hat, liegen nunmehr auch für die Gymnospermen vor. Der vorausgehende Band, der die Histogenese der Angiospermen behandelt, wurde schon in Fortschr. Bot. 23, 13 zitiert. In England sind die beiden ersten Bände der von Metcalfe edierten “Anatomy of the Monocotyledons” erschienen. Dem 1. Band, der die Gramineen (Metcalfe) umfaßt, ist sehr schnell der 2. Band gefolgt. Dieser behandelt die Palmen und wurde von Tomlinson bearbeitet.
