Zusammenfassung

Als an der im Jahre 1905 in Meran stattfindenden Pathologen-Tagung Friedrich von Müller(221) zum ersten Mal den Begriff Nephrose vorschlug, war für ihn die Pathogenese der leitende Gesichtspunkt. Es schien ihm auf Grund morphologischer Kriterien berechtigt zu sein, die degenerativen Nierenerkrankungen von den entzündlichen zu trennen. Der Begriff „Nephritis“sei auf exsudative und proliferative Prozesse der Gefäße zu beschränken. Bei Veränderungen, welche nur degenerativer Art sind oder bei denen die entzündliche Natur nicht über jeden Zweifel erhaben ist, sei die Bezeichnung „Nephrose“angebracht. Schon damals mußte Friedrich von Müller zugeben, daß eine ätiologische Einteilung oft nicht möglich war. Insbesondere seien beim Typus der großen weißen Niere die Fälle kryptogenetischen Ursprungs recht häufig.
