Zusammenfassung

Obwohl bisher Angaben über Kokken und sporenbildende Bakterien als Pflanzenkrankheitserreger einer exakten Nachprüfung nicht standhielten, finden sich selbst in der neueren Literatur immer wieder derartige gegensätzliche Behauptungen. So berichtet z. B. Benben (1959) u. a. über Micrococcus populi, der sich in Polen an Pappelsämlingen und -bäumen als pathogen erwiesen haben soll, und J. F. Malcolmson von dem aus kranken Kartoffeln in Schottland isolierten Bacillus subtilis, der bei Infektionsversuchen im Gewächshaus sich auch für Tomatenpflanzen pathogen gezeigt habe. Da der Bacillus in Form und Größe sehr an Corynebacterium sepedonicum erinnere, sind Zweifel an der Richtigkeit der Diagnostizierung wohl berechtigt.
