Zusammenfassung
In den letzten zwanzig Jahren ist gezeigt worden, daß sich aus Tierhypophysen gonadotrope Substanzen isolieren lassen, welche im Tierversuch unterschiedliche Eigenschaften aufweisen. Entsprechend ihrer Wirkung am Ovar der hypophys-ektomierten Ratte wird bekanntlich eine derselben „Follikel stimulierendes Hormon“ (FSH), eine andere „Interstitialzell stimulierendes Hormon“ (ICSH) genannt (6). Die Isolierung von zwei gonadotropen Prinzipien in hochaktiver, weitgehend gereinigter Form legte nahe, daß diese in vivo von der Hypophyse als voneinander unabhängige Hormone sezerniert und auch als solche im Harn aus-geschieden werden.
