Zusammenfassung

Jeder unklare Lungenbefund, ungeachtet der klinischen Symptomatologie oder Verlaufsform, sei er akut oder chronisch, kann durch Pilze hervorgerufen werden. Trotz dieser Tatsache bestehen verschiedene Gründe, warum sich die innere Medizin mit den Problemen der Mykologie relativ wenig befaßt hat. Einmal sind Pilzerkrankungen der inneren Organe in unseren europäischen Breiten relativ selten, im Gegensatz zu den Pilzerkrankungen der Haut. Aus diesem Grund bekommen wir solche Erkrankungen nur sehr selten zu Gesicht, weshalb den meisten Internisten auch entsprechende Erfahrungen fehlen. Die mykotischen Affektionen kommen meist nur sporadisch vor und nur in ganz seltenen Fällen epidemisch, weil die Pilze nicht wie die meisten Bakterien oder Viren direkt übertragen werden. Wie wir noch später sehen werden, bereitet auch die Diagnose erhebliche Schwierigkeiten. In diesem Zusammenhang ist noch zu erwähnen, daß auch die Nomenklatur nicht einheitlich gehandhabt wird. Wenn wir dies am Beispiel des ubiquitär vorkommenden Soorpilzes erörtern, so finden sich nach Angaben im „Manual of Clinical Mycology“ in der Literatur für Soor nicht weniger als 172 Bezeichnungen.
