Zusammenfassung

Das Kalenderjahr 1954 hat eine weitere Steigerung der Leistungen der drei Seekanäle mit dem relativ größten Tonnagedurchgang gebracht. Im Jahre 1952 sind durch diese drei Seekanäle in vergleichbaren Nettoregistertons 112,295 Mill. RT geführt worden. Hiervon entfielen auf den Suez-Kanal 62,7 Mill. NRT oder 55,8 vH des Tonnagedurchgangs durch die drei Seekanäle, auf den Panama-Kanal 28,3 Mill. NRT oder 25,2 vH und auf den Nord-Ostsee-Kanal 21,3 Mill. NRT oder 19 vH.

Abstract

The calendar year 1954 brought a further increase in the efficiency of the three Sea Canals with the relatively largest volume of tonnage transits ever achieved. In 1952 altogether 112.295 mill. net register tons had been carried through the three Canals. 62.7 mill. net register tons thereof fell to the account of the Suez Canal. This tonnage volume was tantamount to 55.8 per cent of the total tonnage transits effected in all three Canals. 28.3 mill. net register tons or 25.2 per cent were accounted for by the Panama Canal and 21.3 mill. net register tons, equivalent to 19 per cent, by the Kiel Canal.
