Zusammenfassung
Die Gerinnungsforschung hat in den letzten 2 Jahrzehnten gewaltige Fortschritte gemacht. Es war zunächst die Entdeckung des Coagulationsvitamins K durch Dam [1,2] und Schønheyder in den Jahren 1934–35, die das Interesse an der Blutgerinnung von neuem weckte. Quick [1] schuf 1935 durch seine Prothrombinzeitbestimmung ein einfaches, alle bisherigen Methoden an Exaktheit übertreffendes Verfahren, das sich als außerordentlich wichtiges Hilfsmittel für die weitere Forschung erwies, wenn auch die Deutung der mit dieser Methode erhaltenen Ergebnisse seither eine gewisse Änderung erfahren hat. Als Ursache der “sweet clover disease”, einer schweren hämorrhagischen Diathese der Rinder, war von Roderick 1931 eine Verminderung des Prothrombins erkannt und von Quick [3] 1937 bestätigt worden, der auch auf Beziehungen zu einer durch Vitamin K-Mangel bedingten hämorrhagischen Diathese der Hühner hinwies. campbell und Link sowie Stahman, Huebner und Link erkannten als auslösendes Agens der Erkrankung der Rinder das 3,3’-Methylen-bis-(4-oxyeumarin) und legten so den Grundstein zur Thrombosetherapie mit Dicumarol und seinen Derivaten. Durch diese Therapie wurde eine größere Anzahl von Ärzten mit den Grundlagen und Methoden der Gerinnungsforschung vertraut, neue Methoden wurden ausgearbeitet. Dies ermöglichte eine wesentlich eingehendere Untersuchung insbesondere jener hämorrhagischen Diathesen, die sich nicht ohne weiteres in die bisher bekannten Krankheitsbilder einordnen ließen.
