Zusammenfassung

Die Schwangerschaft einer diabetischen Frau war in der Vor-Insulin-Ära ein seltenes Ereignis (Gilbert u. Dunlop). Bennewitz (s. Skipper) soll 1826 über den ersten Fall berichtet haben. Nach Seitz wurden nur 5%, nach John an der Katsch’schen Klinik ebenfalls nur 5%, nach Rosenberg 8% aller Frauen mit einem Diabetes mellitus gravide. Ähnliche oder noch kleinere Prozentzahlen werden von v. Noorden, Lecorché, Skipper, Schützberg u. a. angegeben. Williams berichtet 1909 während einer dreizehnjährigen Tätigkeit am John-Hopkins-Hospital, daß er nur „eine“ schwangere diabetische Frau gesehen habe und fand in einer Literaturübersicht nur 65 Fälle erwähnt.
