Zusammenfassung

Die Pest ist eine enzootisch und epizootisch bei den Nagern vorkommende hämorrhagische Septicämie, die unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen auf den Menschen übergeht. Diese zu epidemischer Ausbreitung neigende Infektionskrankheit zeichnet sich durch schwere Allgemeinerscheinungen und hohe Tödlichkeit aus. Beim Menschen kennen wir Drüsen-, Lungen- und Hautpest sowie Pestsepticämie, die jedoch nicht in jedem Falle klar zu trennen sind, weil es Übergänge von einer Krankheitsform zur anderen gibt.
