Zusammenfassung

Das Thromboseproblem hat sich in klinischer Hinsicht in den letzten 15 Jahren vollkommen verändert. Auf der Tagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Kreislaufforschung im Jahre 1934 bedauerte Morawitz, daß „es auch heute noch keine dankbare Aufgabe ist, das Thromboseproblem zu behandeln. Am Krankenbett hat die Thrombose nichts von ihren Gefahren verloren, es ist heute noch ein unheimliches Leiden, ein Schreckgespenst für Chirurgen und Internisten. Prophylaxe und Therapie tasten unsicher hin und her.“ Morawitz, der sich seit einem Menschenalter mit Fragen der Gerinnung und der Thrombose beschäftigt hatte, war sich der Schwere seiner Worte wohl bewußt. Wie anders sind doch die Verhältnisse heutzutage.
