Zusammenfassung

Während der letzten 10 Jahre ist uns in raschen Zügen ein Mechanismus näher gerückt worden, der in einem ganz besonderen Sinne dem Stoffwechsel dient und der ein Grundphänomen alles biogenen Stoffumsatzes zu sein scheint: die Gruppenübertragung („group transformation“). Wir verstehen darunter den Vorgang, daß gewisse einfache Gruppen bzw. Radikale, z. B. —NH₂, —CH₃, in einer echten chemischen Bindung (also nicht etwa adsorptiv) an geeignete Trägersubstanzen angefügt, von ihnen wieder abgelöst und auf andere weitergegeben werden können.
