Abstract

To the Englishman there seems to be no particular difficulty in knowing his own mind. And yet this is something he very rarely achieves; not because he is inordinately given to psychological masquerade, but rather on account of the persuasive extraverted mental habit of representing reality in terms of sell-evident goals instead of enquiring into motives.
