Zusammenfassung

Die chronische Herzinsuffizienz ist eine der häufigsten Erkrankungen in den westlichen Industrieländern. Der Anteil älterer Menschen an der Gesamtpopulation nahm in den letzten Jahrzehnten deutlich zu. Da mit steigendem Lebensalter auch die Prävalenz der Herzinsuffizienz steigt, wird diese in den kommenden Jahren zu einem der wichtigsten Probleme des Gesundheitswesens werden.
