Zusammenfassung
Frühgeborene Kinder stellen zahlenmäßig die größte Risikogruppe bezüglich postnataler Wachstums- und Entwicklungsstörungen dar. Fünf bis sechs Prozent aller Kinder sind frühgeboren, das heißt, sie kommen vor der 37. Schwangerschaftswoche zur Welt. Die Mehrheit dieser Kinder entwickelt sich in jeder Beziehung normal; je nach Entwicklungsbereich ist ein unterschiedlich großer Prozentsatz der Kinder in seiner Entwicklung beeinträchtigt.
