DGII 1991 und DGII 1995: Eine retrospektive Studie zum Vergleich von 80-One-piece-PMMA-Linsen und 79 Hydrogellinsen wird fünf Jahre nach Implantation neu aufgegriffen

Zusammenfassung

Auf der DGII 1991 stellten wir 80 One-piece-PMMA-Linsen (Typ PCL2A) gegenüber 79 Hydrogellinsen (Typ Iogel 1103) in bezug auf den Verlauf der Zylinderwerte und der Zylinderachse.

Mittlerweile wurde die Hydrogellinse vom Typ Iogel auch vom deutschen Markt genommen, nachdem in den USA nach YAG-Kapsulotomie Iogel-Linsen in den Glaskörper luxiert waren. Wir nahmen diese Tatsache zum Anlaß und untersuchten die Patienten aus jener Studie von 1991 in bezug auf Visusverhalten, Nachstarrate und Linsenzentrierung retrospektiv nach. Die Auswertung unseres Patientengutes zeigt, daß die Herausnahme der 11,3 mm großen Hydrogellinse vom Markt medizinisch nicht berechtigt war.

Summary

During DGII 1991 we compared 80 one-piece PMMA lenses (type PCL2A) with 79 hydrogel lenses (type Iogel 1103) regarding cylindric values and the development of the cylindric axis. In the meantime, the Iogel lens is no longer produced because of some reports in the USA on luxation of Iogel lens into the vitreous following YAG laser capsulotomy. We reviewed our retrospective study from 1991 and followed up on what had happened in the meantime to those patients regarding visual acuity, posterior capsule opacification and the position of the different kind of lenses. We determined that there was no reason not to implant the 11.3 mm Iogel lens when placing it in the capsular bag with an intact anterior rhexis.
