Zusammenfassung
In den letzten 10 Jahren hat sich das diagnostische Konzept bei Raumforderungen der Niere gewandelt. Während früher neben dem i.v.-Pyelogramm lediglich die Angiographie weiteren Aufschluß geben konnte, stehen jetzt mit der nicht invasiven Sonographie bzw. Computertomographie zwei Verfahren mit einer bisher nicht erreichten Sensitivität und Spezifität zur Verfügung, die über 90% aller diagnostisch relevanten Fragen beantworten [2, 3, 36, 37]. So muß geklärt werden, ob überhaupt und für welche Fragestellungen speziell die technisch aufwendigere Kernspintomographie eingesetzt werden kann und soll. Um den Wert der Gradienten-Echo(GE)-Sequenzen in der Diagnostik raumfordernder Nierenprozesse festzustellen, wurde folgenden Fragen nachgegangen:

Ist die Methode in der Lage, die durch andere Verfahren nachgewiesenen Läsionen in gleicher Weise zu erfassen?

2.
Besteht die Möglichkeit einer gleich guten oder besseren Differenzierung und artdiagnostischen Zuordnung?

3.
Sind die Aussagen zur Ausdehnung des Prozesses zuverlässig und gelingt somit die präoperative Stadieneinteilung maligner Tumoren?

4.
Wie kann die Untersuchung mit dem geringsten zeitlichen Aufwand und dem größten Informationsgewinn rationell gestaltet werden?
