Zusammenfassung
Der IEC-Bus wurde von der Firma Hewlett-Packard (HP) entwickelt und ist nachträglich zu einem internationalen Standard erklärt worden (IEC= International Electrotechnical Commission). Er ist in der Meß- und Steuerungstechnik weit verbreitet, wo er auch unter dem Namen GPIB (general purpose interface bus), IEEE-488 Bus (gesprochen: “ai tripple i”, Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers, USA) oder HP-IB (Hewlett-Packard Interface Bus) bekannt ist.
