Zusammenfassung

Angst ist ein ubiquitäres, normalpsychologisches Phänomen mit einer ethologischen Fundierung: Angst hat die biologische Funktion, das Lebewesen vor Bedrohung zu bewahren, indem ein adäquates Vermeidungsverhalten veranlaßt wird. Angst erfahren zu können, muß in der Evolution einen Vorteil gebracht haben. Angst kann vorkommen bei speziellen Angsterkrankungen, bei den meisten übrigen psychiatrischen Störungen, vor allem aber als normale affektiv-emotionale Reaktion.
