Zusammenfassung
Die Erschließung der Inhalte von Texten, die in Rechnern gespeichert sind, stellt einen kritischen Punkt für die Effizienz und Akzeptanz solcher Systeme dar, sei es in Büroumgebungen, sei es in Dokument-Nachweis-Systemen, beim Volltextretrieval oder im Bereich der electronic publication. Bestehende Verfahren liefern hier bislang wenig mehr Hilfe als das Auflisten aller dem System bekannten Wörter,Möglichkeiten des mechanischen Abschneidens von Teilstrings (Trunkierung) und Möglichkeiten der mechanischen Abstandsangabe (Adjacency).
