Abstract
Insulating a building envelope is a very efficient method of cutting down on heating energy demand. Transparent thermal insulating systems combine both the advantages of conventional opaque insulation and the opportunity of utilizing gains from incident solar radiation. Aerogel’s transparence,in combination with its low thermal conductivity,makes it a promising material for transparent thermal insulation.
