Zusammenfassung
Über kein Karzinom liegen so viele Publikationen mit scheinbar voneinander abweichenden Ergebnissen vor, wie über die Therapie des operablen Mammakarzinoms. Daher sind auch die Meinungen über die beste Primärbehandlung des Mammakarzinoms so vielfältig, daß es jedem Referenten schwer fallen muß, auch nur einigermaßen objektiv über die von den verschiedenen Kliniken empfohlenen Behandlungsmaßnahmen zu berichten. Bekanntlich reicht die Palette der Behandlungsmöglichkeiten eines Mammakarzinoms von der ausgedehnten Radikalität einer Operation nach Rotter-Halstedt, wodurch eine weitgehend vollständige Entfernung der extrathorakalen Lymphabflußgebiete möglich ist, bis zu einer fast operativen Resignation, bei der nur noch der Tumor selbst entfernt wird, während die Sanierung der übrigen Mamma und der regionalen Lymphabflußgebiete der Strahlentherapie überlassen bleiben. Zwischen diesen beiden Extremen kann der Operateur heute alle Varianten wählen, und er wird auch entsprechende Studien und Statistiken vorweisen können, die sein Vorgehen rechtfertigen.
