Zusammenfassung

Fast zwei Drittel aller Kinder bei elektiv chirurgischen Eingriffen sind fakultativ gefährdet bei einer Regurgitation oder bei einem Erbrechen eine schwere Säureschädigung der Lunge zu erleiden. — Die orale Applikation von 10 mg/kg KG Cimetidin 120–180 min vor Narkoseeinleitung erwies sich als effektive Methode zur Anhebung des Magensaft-pH’s und zur Reduktion des Magensaftvolumens. — Die Prämedikation mit Cimetidin nach dem unten angeführten Schema könnte demnach in der Kinderanaesthesie die Gefährdung der Patienten durch eine Aspiration erheblich vermindern.
