Zusammenfassung

In einem Buch über Amputationen ist ein Kapitel über die Bedeutung der präventiven Fußpflege — um die Wichtigkeit dieses Themas hervorzuheben — gerechtfertigt. Dieses Kapitel befaßt sich mit dem Diabetes, der zweithäufigsten Krankheit, die zu Amputationen führen kann, weil er die Durchblutung bzw. die Kapillarmembran verändert (Goldenberg et al. 1959). Die Entstehungsmechanismen der diabetischen Gangrän und derjenigen bei peripheren Gefäßerkrankungen sind verschieden. Auch das allgemeine Erscheinungsbild ist unterschiedlich (Haimovici 1970).
