Summary
Given a patient’s symptom pattern, the computer-assisted diagnostic system is able to deduce medical diagnoses logically and to explain them. Not only proven or excluded diagnoses are presented but also diagnostic hypotheses attached to proposals for further examinations of the patient. At present, an extended application in rheumatology involving 1.500 cases with 2.000 symptoms, signs and test results of 200 diseases is being tested.
