Abstract

The computer EC 1040, produced by Kombinat Robotron, was set into operation in the Medical School “Carl Gustav Carus” Dresden in May 1979 where it replaced the computer Robotron 300 which had been working there since 1971. This paper will give a survey of the aims, forms and present level of application of EDP projects and computers. Priority will be devoted to their use in the three large hospitals of the city of Dresden and the environs. The aim of the data communication within the computer network, the present state and the further realization stages are presented.
