Summary

The authors introduce the program of a Minimum Basic Data Set for Tumour Patients developed in 1977/78 which has meanwhile been declared as the obligatory basic program for a coordinated tumour documentation for all tumour centers in the Federal Republic of Germany by the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Tumorzentren — ADT” (Association of German Tumour Centers). The program consists of three parts, a questionnaire for the first examination, a form for follow-up examinations and a final questionnaire. The German data acquisition program is comparable with other national and international projects of a basic documentation of malignant tumours.
