Summary

To evaluate antenatal ultrasounds reliability, fetal sex diagnosis has been selected as a performance indicator. This study has rewieved 4 000 pregnancies and for each pregnancy, 3.5 ultrasounds examinations have been computed.

Fetal sex diagnosis ability and correctness have been described as PENETRANCE and PRECISION, Both parameters are combined in one standardized coefficient which variations reflected individual and global improvements of the team aptitudes.

Coefficients interpretation does not require any ultrasounds specific knowledge; this study is included in quality of care evaluation in obstetrics. Processing and diagnosis being simultaneous, the examination informative quality is linked to the operator competences.

Moreover, ultrasounds diagnosis is frequently an ultimate test before therapeutic decision in obstetrics. These coefficients should effects resulting from technologic abuses.
