Summary

It is essential, for health authorities, to know the actual immunization status in the population. This should be expressed in terms enabling one to appraise the programs, to study the time course of events and to compare various population types.

Although these data are simple in nature, it is not always easy to bring them together by manual recording.

In this field, therefore, computers can provide irreplaceable contributions. This has been confirmed by GALLOWAY, in CHICHESTER, since 1962. We, in France, have taken over this method since 1972, and have extended it to about twelve cities from this year onwards. We have studied its cost and results.
