Computers and the Law of Privacy: The American Experience

Abstract

Use of computers has created great popular concern about invasion of privacy. The predominant governmental response to these concerns in the American States has been to enact detailed procedural standard for information transference. The approach risks forfeiture of much of the promise of computerization.
