Study of the Nervous Command During Walking

Abstract

The authors first establish a model of the skeleton and examine the various forces acting on the system. An equation is derived relating various forces that is the basis of Nelson’s model. The us of Lagrange’s formalism enables the authors to write the equation of motion without using the internal forces. A set of differential equation is thus obtained that show the relation between the geometrical parameters of walking and the nervous command given to the muscles involved. This is further refined by the use of the Plas and Viel study.
