Abstract

A telechir is a system of vision and anthropoid mechanical arms and hands carried on a suitable self mobile body remotely connected to a human operator, so fully that he can use his trained skill of hands and eyes to do his complete skilled task as though he were on the spot. So far they have been mainly developed for use in space and in radioactive regions but they can be used for all mining to be done without men going underground, for work underwater at any depth and for all dangerous factory work, e.g. with explosives.
