Abstract
Among the most important groups of organic phosphorus compounds are derivatives of phosphine and phosphoranes. Among these, phosphoranes with coordination number four are especially interesting. The ylids (CH3)3PCH2, (CH3)3PNH, and (CH3)3PO are isoelectronic compounds. The electronegativity of the basic center increases in the order -CH2, -PNH, -PO.
