Abstract
Late effects of internally deposited radioisotopes include physiological and anatomical changes, neoplasms, and life shortening. Genetic changes inherited in the offspring of the first and subsequent generations can also be considered late effects but will not be considered in this chapter. Previous reviews on this subject include those of Tullis and Johnson (1958), Furth and Tullis (1956), Bloom and Bloom (1954), and Furth and Upton (1953).
