Zusammenfassung
Über die Spätprognose eines vor acht Jahren erstmalig beschriebenen Krankheitsbildes (33,5) läßt sich noch nichts Endgültiges sagen. In dieser Zeit ist es gerade gelungen, die Prognose einiger Formen des AMS zu verbessern. Im Augenblick kann eine Betrachtung der Spätprognose aber die Faktoren beschreiben, von denen sie bestimmt wird und die therapeutischen Möglichkeiten erwägen, die ihre Verbesserung bereits ankündigen. Es handelt sich beim AMS nicht um ein einheitliches Syndrom, sondern um ein gemeinsames Verhalten Infektionen gegenüber, das durch eine Schwäche wichtiger Abwehrmechanismen bedingt ist. Demgemäß ist die Prognose nicht für alle Krankheiten, die mit einem Antikörpermangel einhergehen, gleich. Voraussetzung einer richtigen Prognose ist die Erkennung der Ursachen des Antikörpermangelsyndroms (vgl S. 1).
