Comparative studies on the pharmacological effects of new diuretics

  • Chapter
Book cover Diurese und Diuretica / Diuresis and Diuretics

Abstract

One of the consequences of the world-wide research in all fields of experimental medicine is that numerous drugs are found which in different ways achieve the same therapeutic end. This is desirable because it permits choice and individualization of therapy in appropriate cases; it permits combination therapies when so indicated; and the knowledge that there are a variety of pharmacological approaches to a given problem stimulates the search for and probable discovery of new and better drugs.
