Zusammenfassung

„Gefäße, welche Nahrungsstoffe aufnehmen und Flüssigkeit zu den Drüsen führen“, sind bereits bei Hippokrates beschrieben. Aristoteles erwähnt „Fasern, welche in der Mitte zwischen Blutgefäßen und Nerven stehen und welche farbloseFlüssigkeit enthalten“. 1622 wurden von Asellius die Chylusgefäße am Darm neu entdeckt. 1647 beschrieben Jean Pequet und Joh. van Horne die Cysterna chyli des Hundes unabhängig voneinander. Thomas Bartholinus und O. Rudbeck erkannten als erste das Lymphgefäßsystem in seinem Zusammenhang Der Chylothorax ist erstmals bei Langelot (1663) erwähnt.
