Zusammenfassung

Eine Chirurgie der heißen Länder ist noch nicht geschrieben. Die Erforschung und Bekämpfung der Infektionskrankheiten, die, wie es immer klarer wird, das Mörderische des Tropenklimas bedingen, lag und Hegt dem Tropenarzt viel mehr am Herzen. Das ist selbstverständlich. Mit der zunehmenden Erkenntnis der Tropen-En- und -Epidemien und ihrer Ursachen wird dieses Interesse nicht erlahmen. Aber vielleicht wird sich dann auch für die Erforschung chirurgischer Besonderheiten des Tropenklimas mehr Zeit finden als jetzt. Gibt es doch wohl auch in den Tropen kaum chirurgische Spezialisten, wie überhaupt die Spezialisierung der Ärzte in den heißen Ländern nur in verschwindendem Maße vorhanden ist.
