Zusammenfassung

Die Geschwülste der Speicheldrüsen sind im Ganzen mehr von theoretischem als praktischem Interesse. Zwar sind die Tumoren nicht so selten, daß sie nicht praktische Bedeutung hätten, doch liegt die „Frage“ der Speicheldrüsentumoren viel mehr auf allgemein pathologischem und pathologisch-anatomischen als auf chirurgischem Gebiete. Für den Praktiker liegen die Dinge sowohl in diagnostischer wie therapeutischer Beziehung relativ einfach, während die Pathologie der Speicheldrüsentumoren noch immer zu den am meisten diskutierten Gebieten der Geschwulstlehre gehört. Dies gilt vor allem von den für die Speicheldrüsen charakteristischen Mischgeschwülsten, über deren Histologie und Pathogenese die Ansichten auch heute noch weit auseinander gehen. Weniger bekannt ist, daß auch die malignen Tumoren der Speicheldrüsen, die überhaupt wenig bearbeitet worden sind, noch manche Probleme zu lösen aufgeben.

Die Abbildungen sind zum größten Teil nach Vorlagen hergestellt, die für meine, demnächst in der „Deutschen Chirurgie“ (Verlag Ferdinand Enke, Stuttgart) erscheinenden Arbeit über „Erkrankungen der Speicheldrüsen“ angefertigt worden sind.
